Life Studios isn’t just a health center. It isn’t a spa. It’s not just a place to treat your skin or find solutions to address age-related changes in gynecologic vitality.
Our practice doesn’t fit standard labels or definitions because it was designed to be about you. We took the standard mold and shattered it to pieces because we’d like you to stop thinking about the limits and instead focus on the possibilities.
When you visit us you’ll experience something very different from what you’re used to. Life Studios is a place where you can find help with achieving your aesthetic goals, improving your lifestyle with healthy habits, improving gynecologic vitality, and above all; reclaiming your confidence and sense of self.
That last part is perhaps the most important one because it means different things to different people. What does it mean to you…? We’re here to listen.
Life Studios is a place of compassion. A place where you can feel free to share your aesthetic and health concerns without any judgment or lecturing from your provider. It is a place where no one will bully you into decisions or treatments that don’t interest you. We’re here to listen to your needs and help you find the right solutions so that your sense of self-confidence and fulfillment can blossom.
How did we get started?
The physicians at Life Studios are partners in the largest private practice Ob-Gyn medical office in Northern California. As we aged, so did our patients. Weight loss, painful intercourse, stubborn fat, and sagging skin were all daily complaints we heard. We were not satisfied with not having a solution, so we set out to find the best treatments available. We also tried the treatments and products personally! We have created a place where the whole person is considered. Our patients often brought their partners to visits, and we found they also wanted the same treatment options, so we also treat men.
What makes us different?
We have a huge medical practice. We do not have to up-sell you on products or procedures you do not need or want. Our Board certified physicians are always present, allowing us to individualize our treatments to your needs. Our rooms are comfortable, and our staff is eager to help you achieve your goals to look and feel better about your appearance. At our office, you can find treatments and products to make you the best you can be. We have taken aesthetics to a higher level, which you deserve.

Meet Our Caring Physicians and Staff
Dr. Sweeney attended the University of Southern California for both undergraduate and medical school. She grew up with an active Southern California lifestyle; playing beach volleyball, surfing, skiing, and running track. Completing her specialty training at the University of Virginia, she then moved to Northern California to raise her family. She has found that both childbirth and the effects of an active outdoor lifestyle in the sun and wind are less forgiving on skin and appearance with age. She utilizes an integrative approach to medicine. As an expert in women’s health and menopause, she was not satisfied with the options available to her patients. Life Studios allows her a forum to introduce the best dietitians, mental skills and lifestyle coaches, skin care experts, and other preventative care resources. She has personally lost weight (many times!) and overcome injury and illness to stay in shape. She believes that diet is the foundation of health, and believes in preventing aging and disease before they occur. As a cancer survivor herself, she is very aware of the aesthetic, dietary, and functional issues faced by cancer survivors. She is excited to offer non-surgical and non-medication options to her patients. As she likes to say, “Doctors are taking back wellness!”
Dr. Ho attended Cornell University before completing her medical school training at Temple University, and her Ob-Gyn residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center. The human body is amazingly designed. She believes the foundation of our health starts with a strong body through proper nutrition and exercise. Our body helps us go through life: pregnancy, career, motherhood, and menopause. She knows the challenges personally, as the mother of four children, including twins! We should work with our body, use natural ingredients to supplement what we need and also to get rid of toxins. She also believes in incorporating advances in science and technology into the medical practice. Non-invasive aesthetic treatments are a frontier she is very excited to be part of. She finds it very rewarding to help women look and feel better as they go through life’s obstacles. It’s exciting to combine natural products with modern technology to enhance the beauty of human body and spirit.
Dr. Scates grew up in the mid-west. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma as an undergraduate, then received both his medical school and Ob-Gyn residency training at the University of Oklahoma. He has been providing patient-centered care in Roseville for over 26 years. He and his wife have raised their three children in Granite Bay. Their family enjoys outdoor activities and travel.
Dr. Canavero is a mother, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a friend and a doctor (to name a few). Like so many patients, she is busy doing what she loves and understands that sometimes you are so busy that you forget to take good care of yourself. She has a Masters of Public Health from Loma Linda University. Her medical school and Ob-Gyn Residency were done at Creighton University. She is excited about the possibilities Life Studios offers; classes on diet, cancer prevention, menopause management. There are so many procedures, tricks, and tools to help us all feel better about ourselves. She encourages clients to stay educated about the small changes they can make to keep looking and feeling their best. “As a fair-skinned, freckle-faced [woman], I have been passionate about protecting my skin ever since I learned that baby oil and hours of tanning were NOT “SPF approved” (yes, folks, the sarcasm is real). I’m doing my best to undo the damage from long days in the sun followed by long nights studying”.
